Where your songs are kept, and how to keep a copy

Stage Friend keeps your songs in the app on each device you use, so they open with no signal. With Solo Pro or Stage Pro they also sync to every device you sign in on, so a lost phone or a reinstall doesn't mean typing them in again: you sign in and they come back. On the free plan the songs in your own bands stay on the device you use, while bands others share with you sync everywhere. Before you clear an app or change phones, it helps to know how to take a copy with you and what signing out, clearing the app or deleting your account does.

    Where your songs are kept

Your songs, setlists and gigs are kept in the app on each device you use. With Solo Pro or Stage Pro your own bands sync to every device you sign in on. On the free plan the songs in your own bands stay on the device you use and don't sync to your other devices; Settings, Storage and data says so with Local only. Bands that others share with you sync on every plan, and if you upgrade later, your own bands arrive on every device you sign in on too. Your settings are different: the theme, the text size and your foot pedal keys stay on the device you set them on, while your account and your plan follow you everywhere.

    Take your songs with you

Sometimes you want your songs outside the app: a printed chart for a stand-in, the set for the stage floor, or a copy in your own files. You can make a PDF of any song or setlist, with its chords and lyrics, on every plan; see Print or share a song and Share a setlist. A setlist can also be copied as text with Copy song list: a numbered list with each song's artist, key and length, the sets and the total time, ready to paste into a message to the band.

Signing out, or clearing the app

Signing out keeps your songs on the device, so they are there when you sign in again. Clearing the browser's data or reinstalling the app removes them from the device, and they come back when you sign in with a connection, except your own bands on the free plan, which are kept on that one device. So on the free plan, think twice before you clear the browser's data on the device you play from.

    Delete everything

If you stop using Stage Friend and want your data gone, you can ask for your account to be deleted, and your songs, setlists and data are removed within 30 days. Songs in a band other people are in stay for them. Delete your account explains how. If you only want to start over with one band, delete that band instead, and the rest of your account stays as it is.
