Getting started with Stage Friend
Stage Friend is a songbook and setlist app for musicians and bands: your songs with chords and lyrics, your setlists and your gigs, on your phone, tablet and computer, online or offline. These pages cover the first few minutes, from naming your band and adding the songs you play to finding your way in the menu, searching and setting the app up the way you read best. Once you know your way around, open your song library and start adding songs, or bring them over from another app if you already have a library somewhere else.

First startThe first time you open Stage Friend after signing up, it helps you set up in about a minute: a name for your band or project, the songs you play, and the first of them open and ready to play. Nothing you choose here is final, so a rough name and two or three songs are plenty to start with. If you'd rather look around first, you can skip the whole thing and come back to it in your own time.Name your band or project · Add the songs you play · Skip it and exploreThe menuEverything in Stage Friend starts from one menu: your songs, artists and setlists under Library, your gigs and rehearsal list under Live, and the band they all belong to at the top. On a phone or tablet you open it with the menu button in the top left corner. On a computer with a mouse the menu has the same lists, and your bands and Settings sit in the narrow bar on the left of the screen. What is whereSettingsSettings in Stage Friend holds how the app looks and how your songs read, your foot pedal and keys, Voice Scroll, your account and your plan. Most musicians open it twice: once at the start to make the lyrics big enough to read from the music stand, and again when they pair a page turner pedal. Most of what you set stays on that device, so the tablet on the stand can read differently from the phone in your pocket.Open Settings · What is in Settings · Settings are kept on each deviceSearchSearch in Stage Friend finds your songs, artists, setlists, gigs and other bands from the magnifier at the top of the screen, and searches the web for songs you don't have yet. It's the quickest way to a song when someone at the bar asks for one that isn't in the set, or the singer remembers a line but not the title. Results show as you type, grouped by kind, and a song from the web can go into your library from the results.Search for anything · Narrow the results · Search one list in the menuInstallStage Friend works on phones, tablets and computers: as an app from Google Play on Android, and in the browser at go.stagefriend.app on iPhone, iPad, Windows and Mac. You sign in with the same account everywhere, and with Solo Pro or Stage Pro your songs follow you, so you can edit them on the laptop at home and play them from the tablet on stage. On an iPhone or iPad you add it to the home screen, and from then on it opens from its own icon like any other app.Install on Android · Add it to an iPhone or iPad · Use it on a computer · Get the latest version
