What each plan includes, and what it costs

Stage Friend has three plans: Jammer is free with no time limit, Solo Pro costs $4.90 a month and Stage Pro $13 a month, and both paid plans cost less when you pay yearly. Jammer has what you need to play your own songs from one device, Solo Pro is for the dedicated player who wants their library on every device, and Stage Pro is for bands who play live and want the audience in on it. Each person has their own plan, so a band can mix them.

    Jammer, free

Jammer is the free plan, and it isn't a trial: there's no time limit and no card. You get as many songs as you like, with chords, transpose, chord diagrams, autoscroll, the metronome and a foot pedal, which is everything you need to play from a tablet on the music stand. You can have two bands of your own and three setlists in each band. Fetching songs from the web gives you 40 imports to start with and 2 a month after that, while songs you write or paste yourself never count, and Voice Scroll runs five minutes a week.

The limit you'll notice most is where your songs live. On Jammer the songs in your own bands are kept on the device you use, so the tablet and your phone don't share them, see On several devices. Inviting people to your own bands also takes a paid plan. You can still join a band someone else invites you to, see its songs and setlists and play from them on every device you sign in on, and open any song in Spotify or YouTube to hear how it goes.

    Solo Pro

Solo Pro is for the player who uses more than one device, or who has outgrown the free limits. It has everything in Jammer, and the songs in your own bands sync to every device you sign in on, so a chord you fix on the laptop at home is right on the tablet at the gig. Bands, setlists and web imports have no limit, and neither does Voice Scroll.

You can also play songs from Spotify and YouTube right on their page while you follow the chords, write private notes on your songs that only you see, and keep a rehearsal list of the songs that need work. Spotify plays a 30-second preview on phones and tablets and in Safari, and the whole song on a computer in Chrome, Edge or Firefox when you're logged in to Spotify in that browser, see Where it plays. For playing with others, you can invite one member on the free plan to each of your bands, and as many members on Solo Pro or Stage Pro as you like, since they never take a place, see How many members.

    Stage Pro

Stage Pro is for bands who play live. It has everything in Solo Pro, plus gigs: each gig keeps its date, venue, set times and setlist, and can have a public page your audience opens on their phones. From that page they can vote on songs and send song requests while you play, and you can share your setlist with them live, see Share your gig. Notes on a song can be shared with the whole band, and each band has room for five members on the free plan instead of one.

Not everyone in the band needs Stage Pro. Creating and editing gigs takes Stage Pro, but a member you invited to edit can play from the gig's setlist, mark songs as played and reset a song's votes on any plan, see What members can do.
