Install Stage Friend on Android, iPhone, iPad or a computer
Stage Friend works on phones, tablets and computers: as an app from Google Play on Android, and in the browser at go.stagefriend.app on iPhone, iPad, Windows and Mac. You sign in with the same account everywhere, and with Solo Pro or Stage Pro your songs follow you, so you can edit them on the laptop at home and play them from the tablet on stage. On an iPhone or iPad you add it to the home screen, and from then on it opens from its own icon like any other app.
Install on Android
On an Android phone or tablet, get Stage Friend from Google Play. The app carries everything it needs, so once you have signed in it opens even where there's no signal at all, which is handy in a basement venue. It updates through Google Play like any other app, and if you pay for a plan on Android, you pay and manage it there too, see Change or cancel your plan.

Add it to an iPhone or iPad
There is no App Store app yet, but Stage Friend runs well from Safari and can sit on your home screen like an app. Open go.stagefriend.app in Safari, tap the share button and choose Add to Home Screen. From then on it opens full screen from its own icon, without Safari's address bar taking up space above the lyrics.
Sign in and open the app once with a connection before you rely on it: it keeps working offline once you've opened it online on that device. Keep using the same browser or home screen icon: another browser on the same device starts empty, see On each device.
Use it on a computer
A computer is the comfortable place to write songs, fix chords and build setlists with a proper keyboard. Open go.stagefriend.app in a browser such as Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox and sign in. In Chrome and Edge you can also install it from the address bar, and then it opens in its own window like any other program, without the browser's tabs around it.
Get the latest version
The web app keeps itself up to date: a new version is fetched in the background and starts the next time you come back to the app, so there is nothing to install. Now and then a version is too old to sync with the rest of Stage Friend. Then a bar says Update available. and sync is paused until you update. Choose Update now; on a narrow screen such as a phone it is under Read more, and in the Android app it opens Google Play. You can keep playing in the meantime, and nothing you changed is lost: it is saved on the device and syncs as soon as you have updated. Once you're set up on your devices, What works offline is worth a read before your first gig.
