    OnSong for Android and Windows

Is there OnSong for Android or Windows?

No: as of October 2026, OnSong runs on iPhone, iPad and Mac only. Stage Friend plays the same chords and lyrics on an Android phone or tablet and on a Windows PC, straight from OnSong's own ChordPro export.

    OnSong on Android: not yet

As of October 2026, OnSong's pricing page lists Android and Kindle as coming soon, and a search on Google Play finds no OnSong app, for phones or for Android tablets. If yours runs Android, OnSong is not an option today, however good it is on an iPad.

Stage Friend is a free download on Google Play. The app keeps your songs on the device, so once you have signed in it opens with no signal at all, in a basement venue or on a festival field. Lyrics and chords scroll by themselves at the song's pace, a Bluetooth foot pedal turns the page, and setlists play song by song.

    OnSong for Windows and PC

OnSong has no Windows app and no PC download. Premium includes OnSong Console, which lets you view and edit your library in a web browser, but it is made for keeping the songs in order rather than for playing from on stage.

Stage Friend runs in Chrome, Edge or Firefox on any Windows laptop. In Chrome and Edge you can install it from the address bar, and then it opens in its own window like any other program. A laptop is also the comfortable place to write songs and fix chords with a real keyboard, before you play them from a tablet. See install Stage Friend for every device.

A band where not everyone has an iPad

The usual reason to look for OnSong on Android is the band, not you: the singer has an iPad, the bass player an Android tablet and the keyboard player a Windows laptop. Stage Friend runs on all three, so everyone plays from the same songs on their own device.

The band's owner invites the others by email, which needs Solo Pro or Stage Pro. Members on the free plan open and play everything in the band and work on its setlists, and changes reach everyone within seconds while they are online. With follow along, everyone's screen opens the song the leader calls.

    Bring your OnSong songs along

Export your OnSong library as ChordPro files and drop them into Stage Friend's import. Every song keeps its lyrics and chords, with its title, artist, key and length. The export holds songs rather than sets, so you rebuild the sets as setlists, and recordings, backing tracks and PDF charts stay in OnSong.

The OnSong alternative page compares the two app by app, with the steps of the move, and move from OnSong shows every tap.

When OnSong is the better choice

If everyone in the band plays from an iPad, iPhone or Mac, OnSong has no platform problem and does more on stage: PDF charts kept as they are, MIDI, backing tracks, and worship tools such as lyrics projection and Planning Center. Stage Friend works with songs as text and chords, and has none of those. Its own strengths are elsewhere, see the full comparison.

Questions about OnSong on Android and Windows

No. As of October 2026 OnSong runs on iPhone, iPad and Mac, its pricing page lists Android as coming soon, and there is no OnSong app on Google Play. Stage Friend has an Android app on Google Play and opens the songs you export from OnSong as ChordPro files.

No. OnSong has no Windows or PC version to download; its browser-based Console lets Premium users view and edit their library, but it is made for managing songs, not for playing them on stage. Stage Friend runs in Chrome, Edge or Firefox on Windows, and Chrome and Edge can install it so it opens in its own window.

Not with one shared library: the two apps don't sync with each other. What works is to move the songs to Stage Friend once, as ChordPro files from OnSong, and then the iPad players open Stage Friend in Safari while the others use the Android app or a laptop.

Yes. Once you have signed in, the Android app opens and plays your songs with no signal at all, which helps in a basement venue. In a browser it keeps working offline once you have opened it online on that device.

Yes, with as many songs as you like, on Android and in the browser. Solo Pro adds syncing your songs between your own devices and inviting your band; the pricing page has every plan side by side.
